Sacred Heart School is state approved and accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS/CASI).

The Early Childhood curriculum offers a warm and nurturing environment fostering love and compassion for all people. Individual and small group instruction is practiced using a wide variety of materials in diverse areas of language, math, science, geography, geometry, and practical life skills. A natural desire to learn is encouraged by independent learning, using a systematic, multi-sensory approach. Children enjoy fun and engaging activities such as: music, physical education, computer, and library.

Sacred Heart of Jesus School
Religion is considered the most important subject in the curriculum and is taught on a daily basis. No less than 50% of the school day is devoted to Reading, Language Arts and Mathematics. Students also study Science and Social Studies. Physical Education, Music, Art, Computer, and Spanish (1st-8th) are offered to all students. A special Algebra, Language Arts, and Latin program is available for eighth grade students who qualify. An optional band program is integrated into the schedule once a week.

The study and practice of our Catholic faith is the essence of our existence at Sacred Heart. All students in grades K-8 attend Mass each week. The entire school attends Mass together on special occasions, such as the dedication of the new school year, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, and the closing of the school year. Students attend the Stations of the Cross during Lent. May Crowning is held in May to honor our Blessed Mother. The season of Advent is observed with the lighting of Advent wreaths and the Jesse Tree tradition. Students receive the sacrament of Reconciliation throughout the school year. Morning prayers are recited together daily by the entire student body led by the Student Council. Daily prayers and recitation of the Rosary are also part of the school day. Students are encouraged to be aware of the needs of those less fortunate by participation in various mission and service activities and fund drives. Catholic parents who send their children to our school are expected to attend Church with their children every weekend. Family Living and Child Protection Catechesis are part of the school’s religious instruction program.
